We are delighted to extend our warmest welcome to participants from around the globe to the International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO) 2025. This year’s IESO will be held in Ji’ning, China, under the guidance of the IGEO committee and co-hosted by Ji’ning Confucius School, Shandong University of Science and Technology, Yanyuan Scholarly（Beijing）Education and Technology Group Co., Ltd., and the Chinese Earth Science Olympiad committee. This prestigious event will be held from August 7th to 17th, 2025, at Ji’ning Confucius School, located in Ji’ning, China.
Participant Information:
Each participating country or region may send a team consisting of four official student participants and two mentors. Additionally, teams may include up to six guest students and ten observers. Please note that according to the latest IGEO rules, guest students are not allowed to team up with official students for any group activities, including ITFI and ESP. All guest students will be grouped separately and will not be eligible for any medals.
Registration Details:
Team leaders are requested to register their teams, including both students and teachers, via the links provided to ensure consistency in the submission of information. Please refrain from having other teachers or students complete the registration.

- Registration fee includes accommodation, meals and transportation during the event period in Ji’ning.
- If teachers apply for an upgrade to their accommodation, the additional costs incurred should also be transferred along with the registration fee.
- All participants are required to cover their other travel expenses and secure travel and health insurance.

- Registration is considered successful when the IESO 2025 Organizing Committee receives the registration fee payment. Upon receipt, the committee will send a confirmation email to the respective team leader.
- Bank fees incurred during the sending and receiving process are to be paid by the sender.
- Please include the country or region name and a breakdown of the payment details in the remittance note. For example: Australia, remittance of 2,000 EUR – one team + one observer.
Visa and Invitation Letters:
Participants requiring a visa should consult the nearest Chinese consulate or embassy to find out the necessary procedures. We recommend applying for a tourist visa (L visa). Upon receiving the registration payment, we will send invitation letters to the team leader. A generic invitation letter template is available on the registration link. If a special invitation letter is required, please specify this in the registration link and provide the necessary details.
